Two Perspectives
Crossing Paths...

ANNOUNCING AN UNPRECEDENTED

COLLABORATIVE  EVENT

In a unique paring of oil painting and photography, painter Nancy Bush and photographer James Fox embarked on a journey through four seasons to interpret the mood, atmosphere and light in Texas and New Mexico.  The sublime works of art created from their unprecedented collaborative quest will culminate in a show celebrating each artist’s unique inspiration and interpretation of light and atmosphere.  Many images in the show will be “from our backyard,” the Texas Hill Country.

This collaboration is making art history; it is the first time a painter and a photographer have planned a joint show for a major gallery.  There have been many parings of painting and photography in the past but they usually feature several painters and several photographers from a specific period in history.  Some shows have featured works of one painter and a one photographer but were created from each artist past work and often after one or both artists are dead.  Nancy and Jim’s collaboration is contemporary and intentional.  They began planning the show in the fall of 2009 and worked throughout all of 2010 to find the best locations to capture the essence of the land.
